Ngati Porou Oranga (NPO) is seeking a professional and welcoming Receptionist to join our team at the Ruatorea Health Centre. This is a permanent part-time position, working 24 hours per week, reporting directly to the Practice Manager.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide high-quality clerical and front-desk support to ensure the smooth operation of our clinic’s appointment system and reception area. You will be the first point of contact for our clients, ensuring a warm, professional, and culturally appropriate experience for all whānau.
Front-Desk Excellence: Manage all in-person and telephone inquiries, ensuring the reception is always attended and welcoming.
Patient Administration: Handle accurate patient registrations and record management in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.
MedTech Management: Support clinic efficiency through data entry, staff coding, and timely invoicing using the MedTech system.
Financial Handling: Accurately process patient payments and complete weekly/monthly banking reconciliations.
Clinic Support: Maintain clinic supplies, oversee maintenance requests, and ensure the facility remains secure and clean.
Cultural Competency: Engage respectfully with Māori whānau, utilizing Te Reo Māori where possible and upholding tikanga.

Previous experience in a receptionist, administrative, or customer service role.
Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service focus.
Tech-savvy with high data accuracy and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Knowledge of patient privacy and confidentiality protocols.
Culturally aware, with a deep respect for Te Ao Māori and a willingness to use Te Reo Māori.
Desirable:
A Business Administration Certificate or relevant qualification.
Familiarity with MedTech or similar Practice Management Systems.
Knowledge of Ngāti Porou reo me ngā tikanga.
