At the heart of the Kaiārahi Service is Whānau Ora—away of working that brings together care, connection, and support to help whānau across Te Tairāwhiti achieve their goals and dreams. We believe inempowering whānau to take charge of their own wellbeing and future, grounded in our Reo and Tikanga.

Our Kairaranga are the friendly faces you’ll meet first. They act as navigators who walk alongside you, helping to identify what matters most and creating plans that fit your unique aspirations.

Whether it is navigating complex systems or celebrating milestones of progress, our Kairaranga are there to ensure the journey keeps moving forward. We envision a future where whānau stand strong in their identity, connected, and thriving as one.

Our Unique Approach

Our approach is guided by Te Whare Tukutuku, a support model inspired by the sacred symbolism of the pūngāwerewere (spider). Just as a spider weaves a purposeful web, our model represents connection, resilience, and balance.

The Heart of the Web: Whānau are the center of everything we do; the reason the web exists. Every thread in Te Whare tukutuku connects back to this Kaupapa, ensuring all actions serve, up lift and empower whān

Te Ara Tukutuku: Kairaranga support whānau by creating a Ara Tukutuku or web network, strengthening relationships, repairing disconnections, and linking them to a network of holistic services and relationships.

Cultural Safety: Rooted in tikanga and guided by the whakataukī “Anō he whare pūngāwerewere,” the model ensures whānau are held within a strong, culturally safe structure. Every strand of the web serves to uphold Mana Motuhake, reduce harm, and foster long-term wellbeing.
