The only Māori owned hospital and primary care birthing unit in Aotearoa.

The Case Mix Ward at Te Puia Hospital provides Aged Residential Care beds for our pakeke, as well as acute and general medical services. Our current capacity includes:

• 11 long-term care beds
• 2 respite care beds
• 1 disability bed
• 5 general medical beds (acute only)

Te Puna Wai is our Primary Care Birthing Unit is also based at Te Puia Hospital.  We have 3 maternity beds.

In addition, the case mix ward also supports

• Mobile surgical services
• Specialist outpatient clinics
• X-ray and physiotherapy services
• Level 2 emergency services.

Te Whare Hauora o Ngati Porou  based at Te Puia Hospital also is the hub for Nāti Pēpi, Te Oranga Hinegaro, Home Based Support Services and Primary Health Administration.
