Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (ICAMHS) Mataora

Te Puia Springs Hospital. Community-based service, delivery across the Ngāti Porou rohe based role.

This role is Fixed Term / Full term, we are seeking an experienced and passionate (CAMHS) Child & Adolescent Mental Health Clinician

You will be providing a culturally grounded, community-based mental health assessment, intervention and support for tamariki and rangatahi (0–18 years) and their whānau within the Ngāti Porou rohe.

The role operates within a whānau-centred, strengths-based model of care, supporting access to appropriate services and contributing to positive mental health and wellbeing outcomes.

To awhi and manaaki tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau on their journey to wellness by delivering safe, effective and culturally responsive mental health services.

The role supports whānau to navigate health and social systems, ensures whānau are informed and involved throughout care, and works collaboratively with internal and external partners to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Qualification Requirements

  • Minimum of a degree in Social Work, Teaching or Health Science (or working towards).
  • Commitment to undertake Mahi a Atua training toward becoming a Mataora.
  • Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori health equity.
  • Knowledge of determinants of health inequities.
  • Ability to work across rural and community environments.
  • Full NZ Driver Licence.
  • Commitment to smoke-free, drug-free workplace.
  • In accordance with current NPO Employee Immunisation Policy. Fully vaccinated against COVID-19

Operating Competencies:

  • Proven work history in health, educator, or social services field of at least 3-years is essential.
  • A proven professional competence in either of the above industries
  • Strong professional community networks
  • Strong Ngati Porou connections within whanau and hapu
  • Experienced in Tikanga and Kawa when visiting whanau homes
  • Has experience in development of new systems
  • Has ability to analyse and present findings of work studies
  • Excellent Oral and written communication skills
  • A team player with self-motivation and initiative
  • High level of organisational skills
  • Able to establish a good rapport with people
  • Proficient computing skills
