Tairāwiti Attendance Engagers

The Tairāwhiti Attendance Engagers support tamariki, rangatahi, and whānau to achieve engagement in education.

We centre whānau voice, recognising their strengths, aspirations, and lived experiences as key to improving outcomes.

Our approach focuses on building trusting relationships, restoring balance and wellbeing, and empowering whānau in their education huarahi.

Key support includes early intervention, amplifying whānau voice in planning and decision-making, connecting whānau to appropriate community and social services, and providing wrap-around care through an Attendance Specialist (Registered Social Worker).

Our Attendance Engagers work alongside tamariki, rangatahi, whānau, schools/kura and Alternative Education.

Attendance Specialist (Registered Social Worker)

Our Attendance Specialist provides additional wrap-around support for tamariki, rangatahi and whānau who may be experiencing more

complex challenges affecting attendance.
