Recruitment Coordinator

Ngāti Porou Oranga delivers kaupapa Māori health and social services across Te Tairāwhiti, strengthening whānau and supporting positive outcomes for rangatahi and tamariki.

We are seeking an experienced Recruitment Coordinator to join our dynamic HR team, supporting recruitment and workforce development across multiple service areas from Gisborne to Pōtaka.

This permanent full-time role (40 hours per week) works closely with hiring managers to attract, onboard and retain talented kaimahi who align with our kaupapa.

You’ll play a pivotal role in driving recruitment, attracting and nurturing talent, and leading strategic workforce and retention initiatives — ensuring tikanga and cultural integrity remain at the heart of how we grow.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako – What we’re looking for

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in recruitment, coordination or HR support roles – ideally within complex, multi-service or kaupapa Māori environments
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver end-to-end recruitment across multiple business units and role types
  • Experience contributing to or leading workforce planning, development, and retention strategies
  • Strong knowledge of NZ employment legislation and best practice recruitment
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively with leaders, support all tiers of management and kaimahi
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Cultural competence and commitment to kaupapa Māori values and tikanga
  • Experience implementing, using and optimising recruitment software / ATS systems
  • Proven ability to pivot and adapt to changing organisational needs
