Ngāti Porou Oranga is seeking an experienced Paramedic to join our Primary Care and Community Health Services team. You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality clinical assessment, urgent response, and care interventions for people and whānau most at risk of poor health outcomes.

This is a fixed-term, full-time role until June 2026, based across Te Tairāwhiti, with travel to all East Coast clinics and Te Puia Springs Hospital. Your mahi will be grounded in kaupapa Māori, upholding mana, strengthening whānau wellbeing, and supporting equitable health outcomes across our rohe.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako – What we’re looking for

  • Registration with Te Kaunihera Manapou Paramedic Council and current APC (no restrictions)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science (Paramedicine) – Extended Care Paramedic or equivalent
  • Experience in high-risk patient care, including diabetic and vascular complications, wound assessment, and preventative care
  • Strong clinical governance knowledge and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to build trust with patients and whānau
  • High level of cultural competence, including understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the Ottawa Charter
  • Commitment to Ngāti Porou Oranga values and embedding Ngāti Poroutanga in practice
  • Full, clean NZ driver licence
