The re-opening of the Te Puia Maternity Unit, marks a significant moment for our Ngati Porou whanau. For generations, Te Puia Springs has been a place of healing, wairua and whanaungatanga, and the return of the maternity unit to this space restores vital support for hapu mama and their whanau closer to home. This kaupapa reflects our commitment to mana motuhake in health care, ensuring our pepi are born on our whenua, surrounded by the reo and tikanga of our own people.
