Ngāti Porou Oranga delivers kaupapa Māori health and social services across Te Tairāwhiti, strengthening whānau and supporting positive outcomes for rangatahi and tamariki.

Ka Tipu Kaiarahi supports whānau who are homeless or living in overcrowded or unsafe conditions to rebuild their hauora and move toward safe, stable housing.

We’re looking for a compassionate and community-minded person to walk alongside whānau — helping them set goals, access housing, and connect with health and social services that can make a real difference.

About the role:

This is a Full-Time Role.

As a Ka Tipu Kaiarahi, you’ll work directly with whānau to identify their needs and aspirations, provide practical support, and empower them to take positive steps forward.
You’ll collaborate with a dedicated team, build strong community connections, and ensure whānau have the tools and confidence to sustain long-term wellbeing and independence.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako – What we’re looking for

  • A current Full Driver’s Licence
  • A Diploma in Social Work or relevant tertiary qualification or 2+ years’ experience in community, social, or health services
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and managing data
  • A genuine passion for supporting whānau to thrive

Desirable:
Experience in social or health support work, knowledge of local services, and Te Reo Māori me ōna tikanga.
