Ko Nancy Aupouri ahau.
I am a Comprehensive Registered Nurse of Ngāti Porou decent. Nursing has been a lifelong journey. Nursing is adventurous and has allowed me to travel overseas, working in Sydney, the outback of western Australia working with the Aboriginal people and in London.
I returned home to where the need is greatest, Ngāti Porou. I am more than willing to support our Ngāti Porou whanau hapu, iwi. The skills I have gained while moving around the world has given me the opportunity to serve our Ngāti Porou whanau and all other ethnicities upholding the tikanga and kawa which has been instilled in me by my Tipuna, from a young age.
I believe the opportunity to support the whanau, hapu and iwi more was to take on the Community Nurse Prescriber Course. This role allows me to offer timely, accessible care to our whanau with prescribing and improve health outcomes to our whanau and community.
I have challenged myself to develop new learning methods with best practice, NZ formulary and learning from great mentors Dr Elina and Dr Kiri. Also working alongside my colleagues helps me grow. I have been inspired to grow my education background so I can be at the peak of skills with prescribing.
Whiria te Tangata-weaving people together to ensure they excel in good health.
